News from the Rosewood Scrub Historical Society

The Rosewood Scrub Historical Society is planning to post its monthly newsletter the 'Scrub Scribbler' on this site. Look for it later this month.

The Rosewood Scrub Historical Society has published a new book "Winning the Coal", Coal Miners' Stories from the Rosewood Scrub.

The book is available from the hall (73 Edmond Street, Marburg) for $15.00 or can be mailed for an extra $7.50 postage and handling.

The book is a compilation of recollections of men who worked in the coal mines of the Marburg and Rosewood district. It is not a history but records some of the human stories of the men who worked in the coal mines and of those who waited for them to return from work each day. The recollections are of their experiences during the 1950's and 1960's.

The RSHS hall is open to the public every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from 1.30pm till 4pm. Come in and browse through all the family histories or admire all the photographs.
